Since it's opening in May 2006, the five-star InterContinental Resort & Thalasso Spa Bora Bora is French Polynesia’s first hotel to feature only overwater accommodations, setting a new benchmark in elegance and service.

Accessible only by boat, the deluxe resort is unique beyond compare - one where modern architecture and technology flourishes side by side with traditional authentic local arts and crafts.

InterContinental redefines the traditional overwater bungalow concept by offering 80 exquisite overwater villas, with each encompassing more than 1000 square feet in space, featuring separate living room, bed room, bathroom, sundeck and solarium. All villas feature a glass-bottom coffee table for viewing the abundant sea life in the lagoons, Internet connection, 2 flat-screen televisions with CD & DVD players, and all the amenities and comfort of a five-star property.

The resort also offers a private 1000 feet white sand beach, a magnificent freshwater infinity pool, two restaurants and bars, conference facilities, tennis courts, helicopter pad and for romantic celebrations, a wedding chapel.

The Unique Deep Ocean Spa by Algotherm: From the Greek “thalassa” (sea) and “therapeia” (therapy), thalassotherapy is a range of care based on the benefits of seawater and marine elements. Recognized for its preventive and curative qualities, thalassotherapy has always been lauded for its effectiveness. Drawn from the abysses of the South Pacific and scrupulously respecting the marine environment, deep-sea water is extremely pure. It is particularly rich in minerals and trace elements, concentrating the essential nutrients necessary for our bodies.

Restaurants & Bars

Bubbles Bar: This trendy bar overlooks the beach, the lagoon and spectacular Mount Otemanu. Comfortable and cozy it is the ideal spot to meet and relax anytime of the day. Guests can enjoy many types of drinks, exotic cocktails and light snacks. Open from 10:00 am to 11:00 pm.

Le Reef: This beautifully designed and relaxing Polynesian tropical decor restaurant, opens onto the patio and out to the lagoon, with a gracious landscaped terrace, stepping down to the beach.

Open for breakfast and dinner from 07:00 am to 09:30 pm.

Sands: Ideally located on the resort’s private 1000 feet of white sand beach, it is the perfect rendezvous for casual dining as well as exotic and delicious fresh fruit cocktails. Open from 11:00 am to 09:30 pm
