Sofitel
Motu Bora Bora
The Hotel
The Sofitel Motu, the new address in Bora Bora, is an
executive 5 star resort spreading the discreet charm of its 31 luxurious
bungalows on an idyllic private motu (islet). It is conveniently located
just a few minutes by boat from the main island.
Being at the
other end of the world and enjoying the best services is now a dream
that can be fulfilled, thanks to the Sofitel Motu (which opened its
doors in August 1999) as an incomparable praise to nature. Blending
perfectly with the environment, the project took full advantage of its
natural setting including the best of traditional architecture.
The Rooms
3 Deluxe lagoon front bungalows: On the hillside with lagoon views and an extravagant
Polynesian décor.
7 Deluxe hillside lagoon view bungalows: On the hillside with lagoon views and one king size bed.
14 Deluxe overwater bungalows: Has one double or two single beds and set on stilts over the
water with covered patio and view of lagoon and main island.
6 Deluxe overwater horizon bungalows: Located
at the end of the pontoon, with views over the lagoon to the beach and
to Bora Bora.
1 Deluxe beach villa: The 915 sq ft villa has a wonderful view of the lagoon that
also features a Jacuzzi.
The road to the
31 pandanus-roofed "fares" is lined with hand picked volcanic
stones. The interior structures of the "fare" are made of
"kohu" (a dark and precious exotic wood). Exclusively designed
for the resort, the furniture inspired from the 40's creates a perfect
atmosphere of warmth and intimacy. The fare's shaded terraces directly
overlook the lagoon, the enclosed sea, and its calm crystal clear waters
with its different nuances of blue and turquoise.
As for the overwater bungalows, they all include a private sundeck and a
wooden bench, providing a unique prestige refuge for swimmers.
The central
building, a circular "fare" covered with a pointed pandanus
roof, is an open-air place in which each room is separated by "tapa"
cloths (traditional worked and beaten wood).
The rear of the hotel houses breakfast tables elegantly covered with
linen, a cozy area in which to play chess. At dawn it offers a magical
candlelit atmosphere.
Light lunches
which include grilled fish or meat and exotic salads are served down at
the beach.
The motu is the pearl of the coral reef, contrasting the deep black of
the volcanic rock formation with the immaculate white of the coconut
palms-covered beach. All day-long it offers the possibility of an
unforgettable dream walk.
The 180 degree
panoramic outlook displays a stunning view of Mount Otemanu, the sacred mountain of
Bora Bora. Perched atop the motu's green grassy hillside, one can soak
up the crystal clear lagoon and coral reef gleaming under the sun.
Nature is
omnipresent but the Sofitel Motu also offers the most modern
services of a 5 star resort: Cable-TV in the bungalows, room service for
breakfast
and dinner, air conditioning and
personal attention to each guest's needs.
From the fresh coconut welcome , to the departure day marked by a
farewell present, the credo of the entire team is to make this
hedonistic experience
unforgettable.
